Sale conditions of wood are specified by the regulation of Director – General of the Sate Forests.
Within the framework of the individual sale , the foresters try to meet the fast growing demand, because more and more people use wood in order to heat their houses. Contrary to general opinion, these are not only village people, even though they prevail among recipients. The growth of firewood demand is the result of occurrence of new housing estates built in the suburbs of large agglomerations, where houses are usually equipped in fireplace heating installations.
Firewood is not only the most ecological heat source, but also is much more attractive in respect of relation of price and electric efficiency, rather than cola, oil, gas or electric power.
In recent years, the Sate Forests increased the sale of firewood of one third – up to over 4 million cubic meters annually. Some of customers choose already prepared and cut into pieces wood, the others very willingly obtain it by themselves after arranging all details and fulfilling particular safety conditions, and after paying the fee; that concerns mainly so called "thinnings". Such a raw material is very cheap, that is why many people from village areas profit from such possibility.

X Strzeleckie Mistrzostwa Polski Straży Leśnej
W dniu 8 listopada br. odbyły się X Strzeleckie Mistrzostwa Polski Straży Leśnej o Puchar Dyrektora Generalnego LP. RDLP w Szczecinku reprezentowali: Robert Szostak, komendant posterunku Straży Leśnej w Nadleśnictwie Gościno, Jacek Bukowski, strażnik leśny w Nadleśnictwie Gościno i Grzegorz Gulbas, strażnik leśny w Nadleśnictwie Świdwin. Zawody odbyły się na strzelnicy Centrum Szkolenia Strzeleckiego Lasów Państwowych im. Jana Wendy w Plaskoszu k. Tucholi, na terenie Nadleśnictwa Tuchola, RDLP w Toruniu. Zawodnicy rywalizowali w dwóch konkurencjach strzeleckich, w strzelaniu statycznym i dynamicznym.
Najlepszy indywidualny wynik z naszych reprezentantów osiągnął Robert Szostak, zajmując 1 miejsce w strzelaniu statycznym (94 punkty na 100 możliwych), 17 miejsce w strzelaniu dynamicznym, a w łącznej klasyfikacji, na najlepszego zawodnika Mistrzostw (strzelanie statyczne i dynamiczne), zajął 3 miejsce. Grzegorz Gulbas zajął odpowiednio – 31, 12 i łącznie – 18 miejsce, a Jacek Bukowski – 33, 23 i łącznie – 30 miejsce. W klasyfikacji zespołowej RDLP w Szczecinku zajęła 5 miejsce, na 17 startujących zespołów, uzyskując 117 punktów. Zgodnie z obowiązującą klasyfikacją, w trakcie tych zawodów, przydzielane punkty były równe zajętemu miejscu, np. 1 miejsce – 1 pkt, 10 miejsce – 10 punktów, w związku z tym osoba, która osiągnęła najmniejszą ilość punktów za zajęte miejsce, wygrywała zawody. Zwyciężył zespół reprezentujący RDLP w Gdańsku (66 pkt.), przed RDLP w Pile (82 pkt.) i RDLP w Poznaniu (93 pkt.).
